The Madagascar Hissing Roach is a celebrity, probably many of you remember this fella as main character in the 1975 movie “Bug” or most recently in the tv show “Fear Factor” used as life food. Anyway, it makes a great pet for children, requires very little care and it’s quite strong with a life span of a few years. Their peculiarity is the ability to produce a hiss when bothered or during male fights, sometimes the entire colony would hiss at the same time creating a stunning effect (also annoying when you have 1000s of them ah ah).
